The purpose of this kit is to make the lowering and raising of your tailgate a smooth and effortless process. So much that the tailgate can be lifted with one finger. On many pickups, the tailgate door is very heavy, meaning it crashes down when opening, and is a genuine struggle to raise back into place. A cleverly designed system of sprung hinges and gas struts ensures both the up and down motion of the tailgate is controlled.
You may find this kit offers even greater benefits than first thought. Should you have small children or pets, the tailgate can actually be a hazard as it falls with great force. The gas strut means that the door will lower slowly and without the threat of hurting someone.
Our kit utilises pre-existing bolt holes for a full installation. Both hinges on your L200/Fullback are replaced with our sprung hinges. Fitting of these hinges is very simple: Two bolts secure one side to the bed of the vehicle, and two bolts secure the other side to the bottom of the tailgate. New bolts are supplied in the kit, but original bolts may also be used to secure the hinges.
